FATAL HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER IDENTIFIED

(Pikesville, MD) - Maryland State Police have released the identity of the driver involved in the deadly hit-and-run crash on the Baltimore Beltway at York Road early Saturday morning.

 

                Jeffrey A. Ziegler, 28, of the 8400-block of Loch Raven Boulevard, Towson, Maryland, has been identified as the owner and driver of a 1982 BMW 320i, which struck and killed a 42-year old Baltimore man in a construction zone, shortly after 5:30 a.m. 

 

                The BMW was found abandoned at Greenspring Station several hours later after the crash.  Ziegler was located at his residence by troopers and officers of the Baltimore County Police Department, and voluntarily responded to the Golden Ring Barrack to  speak with investigators.

 

                This investigation is being conducted by members of the Golden Ring Barrack, State Police CRASH Team and Homicide Unit.  Members of the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s office have been consulted and will determine charges.
