(North East, MD) – A relentless search by Maryland state troopers this weekend for the suspect wanted for the murder of a Delaware man two nights ago led to his capture early this morning, just before he was able to flee the state. Raymond C. “RC” Lupfer, 30, of the unit-block of Kent Road, Earleville, Md., was arrested by troopers from the State Police Homicide Unit and North East Barracks at about 5:00 a.m. today. He was arrested without incident at a truck stop on Interstate 95 at Rt. 272 in North East. Lupfer is charged on a criminal warrant with first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, and the use of a handgun in the commission of a crime. He will be taken to the North East Barracks for processing and will appear before a District Court commissioner for a bond hearing later today. Lupfer is charged with the murder of Jeremy E. Yarbray, 20, of the 100-block of Haman Drive, Dover, Delaware. Yarbray was found by police at about 8:30 p.m. on June 16, 2007, after they had been called to the 100-block of Mahogany Drive in North East for a reported shooting. Yarbray |
