(Silver Spring, MD) – State Police Superintendent Colonel Terrence Sheridan will be joined by Delegate Benjamin Kramer, Senator Rona Kramer, Department of Human Resources Secretary Brenda Donald, MEMA Director Richard Muth, and other officials, as well as residents of the state’s largest senior community, to unveil Maryland’s new “Silver Alert” plan. The new notification system for critically missing seniors with cognitive disorders becomes law October 1st.
Event displays will include a Maryland State Police bloodhound team that would be part of a search for a critically missing senior, as well as a State Highway Administration message board representing the roadway signs that will be used to alert motorists. The event will be held at Leisure World, home to thousands of Maryland’s senior citizens, some of whom are expected to attend the event.
