TFC CHAD M. ANDERSON RECEIVES LIFESAVING AWARD - Wednesday, April 18, 2012

On August 22, 2011,  neighbors frantically knocked on the door of Trooper First Class Chad Anderson’s home, to summon his assistance while off-duty.  When TFC Anderson and his wife, answered the door, they were met by a husband and wife, holding their five-week old son, who had stopped breathing.

Without hesitation, TFC Anderson took the baby and immediately began CPR while his wife, Ashlie called 9-1-1.  TFC Anderson was able to restore the baby’s breathing prior to the arrival of EMS personnel, but his assistance did not stop there.

TFC Anderson followed the ambulance to the local hospital and provided subsequent transportation to the family when their baby was transported to another hospital for further treatment.

After this frightening incident occurred and the baby had returned home, TFC Anderson continued to periodically check in with the family on the status of their son.  The medical professionals at the hospital confirmed the baby boy would make a full recovery.   Due to the quick life-saving actions of Trooper First Class Chad M. Anderson, he is presented the Life Saving Award.
