Commander’s Message:

Welcome to the Golden Ring Barrack’s webpage.  We hope that you find this site both helpful and informative.  The troopers and civilian personnel assigned to the Golden Ring Barrack work diligently, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to serve the citizens of Baltimore County, the residents of the State of Maryland, and those traveling through our State, with integrity, fairness, and service.  While our barrack is primarily responsible for both criminal and traffic enforcement on all interstate highways in Baltimore County (with the exception of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway), you can be rest assured that our troopers stand ready to assist anywhere in the State of Maryland.  I hope you take the time to navigate through our site and see first-hand how the personnel assigned to the Golden Ring Barrack stand ready to serve you, and strive to be “Maryland’s Finest!”

Welcome again,

Lieutenant Kimberly A. Smith, Commander.

Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge

MSP WISHES FOR A RAVENS WIN ON SUPERBOWL SUNDAY - Monday, January 28, 2013

A BIG MSP PLUNGE THANK YOU! - Monday, January 28, 2013
Colonel Marcus Brown and everyone in the Maryland State Police are expressing a big "thank you" to all those who participated in or donated in support of the 17th annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics.  The Cool Schools Plunge, Police Plunge, and Corporate Plunge, were held Friday, January 25th.  The Pee Wee Plunge and the two main Polar Bear Plunges were held Saturday January 26th, all at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis.
Donations are still coming in and being counted, so all the numbers are not final yet.  Preliminary numbers indicate more than 12,000 people plunged and, because of the efforts and generosity of many, more than $2 million have been raised to support Special Olympics Maryland.  Each of you who were a part of this amazing event have helped Maryland children and adults with intellectual disabilities realize their full potential by participating free of charge in year-round sports training and competition provided by the great coaches, volunteers and staff of Special Olympics Maryland.
     THANK YOU!
