 State Police Licensing Division

Licensing Division will be closed Monday, October 14, 2019 for the Columbus Day holiday. Business will resume with regular hours on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

THE MARYLAND WEAR AND CARRY PERMIT (HANDGUN PERMIT) APPLICATION IS NOW LOCATED IN THE LICENSING PORTAL

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve customer service, the Maryland State Police is proud to announce that the application process for a Maryland Wear and Carry permit (handgun permit) has been moved online and into the Licensing Portal.  Paper Wear and Carry permit applications postmarked or hand delivered on or before Sept. 30, 2019 will be accepted and will be processed. Paper Wear and Carry permit applications submitted on or after Oct. 1, 2019, will not be accepted and will be returned to the applicant with instructions to submit the Wear and Carry permit application online via the Licensing Portal.

 

 

 

The Maryland State Police Licensing Division administers the provisions of the Annotated Code of Maryland and COMAR related to: the licensing and registration of firearms; handgun permits; security guards and agencies​ and other licensing functions as defined by statute or regulation.​
