Barrack Information:
|
In May, a threat of bombs in two buses traveling to Atlantic City shut down the
Capital Beltway for two hours while the passengers were taken to safety and the case
was investigated. From information gathered by troopers, U.S. Postal Agents were able
to arrest the suspect at a postal facility in Virginia. A lookout message was received
from a sheriff’s department in Ohio regarding a robbery, and 10 minutes later the
vehicle was stopped and the three occupants arrested.
The 2006 Chief’s Challenge was a huge success; as a result of hard work and
dedication the barrack led the state with 1,603 citations, increasing awareness and
saving lives. A seven year old child found wandering along I-495 had been left at home
with an older brother while the mother went to work. She was subsequently charged
with child neglect. In September, a subject stopped for failing to obey a traffic device
was found to be wanted by the INS as a deported felon who had reentered the U.S. As
a result of training in counterfeit documents, the trooper was able to identify the fake
resident alien card. The passenger was charged with possessing false government
documents and faces deportation as an undocumented immigrant.

Fingerprinting Info:
|
In order to have a "background check" or "police clearance" completed by the Maryland State Police, you must appear in person at a Maryland State Police Barrack. At that time you must present a valid, government-issued, photo identification and a check or money order for $5.00 for each fingerprint card required (usually two are required). You will then have your fingerprints taken and those fingerprints will be checked against state and local databases. You will receive a response to our inquiry within a few weeks.
