Barrack Information:

BIn addition to its highway patrol responsibilities, the barrack is responsible for
investigating all crimes occurring at the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center and
Waxter’s Children’s Center, and is first responder for major incidents occurring in the
correctional facilities at Jessup. Another key function is the role of central repository for
initial criminal investigation reports on escapes from the Maryland Department of
Corrections facilities in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County. In 2006 the barrack
handled 159 escape reports.
The October investigation into the theft of $10,000 worth of computer equipment
from the Motor Vehicle Administration in Glen Burnie resulted in the arrest of the
suspect and the recovery of eight monitors. A carjacking and armed robbery also ended
with an arrest and recovery of the vehicle. For the second year in a row the barrack was
a recipient of the 2006 Maryland Chiefs Challenge Award. Troopers wrote 400 more
citations than for the 2005 Challenge and over the year wrote 20,128 citations and
6,290 warnings.

Fingerprinting Info:
|
In order to have a "background check" or "police clearance" completed by the Maryland State Police, you must appear in person at a Maryland State Police Barrack. At that time you must present a valid, government-issued, photo identification and a check or money order for $5.00 for each fingerprint card required (usually two are required). You will then have your fingerprints taken and those fingerprints will be checked against state and local databases. You will receive a response to our inquiry within a few weeks.
